Alison Doody

Alison Doody was born in Dublin, the Republic of Ireland, on the 11th of November 1966. Model as well as an Irish actress. Her debut film performance as an archaeologist Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989's Elsa Schneider - a Nazi-sympathizing character in A View to a Kill (Bond film, 1985) and then went on to play the Nazisympathizing Elsa Schneider. Other roles include Siobhan Donavan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody was approached by a photographer and started to perform the role of a model. She then developed her career as a commercial model. Doody strove to avoid the glamour of nude roles this was the principle she followed in her acting. After getting noticed by the directors of casting for an upcoming James Bond new film, Doody took a small part of Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody was named one of 12 Promising New Actors of 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody was just 18 when she made her first appearance in the Bond character. To date Doody is considered to be the youngest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying with Mickey Rourke also had a part for Doody as IRA Siobhan. Doody was seen as Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 TV version of The Secret Garden. She played Lilias. In a Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, she played Sapsorrow alongside John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She worked with Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Elsa Schneider, an Austrian Nazi sympathizer and an archaeologist from the forensic field in the 1989 film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody played the role alongside Sean Connery, who played Indiana Jones' father. In the year 1991, Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the published fraud known as The Hitler Diaries. She subsequently relocated to Hollywood. The choice was made to replace Cybill Shepherd as the spokeswoman of L'Oreal she was later chosen to perform alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II in the role of Flannery his girlfriend and agent. After a long absence from the screen Doody was back in the acting world and acted in a tiny role in 2003 British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine as her character in the event scene for the award ceremony. in 2004, Doody was in the film in a scene with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. Also Doody appeared on Benjamin's Struggle (2005), an essay on the Holocaust. In 2010 Doody played a role on Danny Dyer's feature film The Rapture (2010). Then, she appeared in the RTE the medical drama The Clinic. She was scheduled to also play the lead role in an adaptation in 2011 of the horror movie The Asphyx. However, that project eventually stalled. The year 2011 saw her debut on the first season of two in the E4 comedy drama Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she was on the show as Pam Jefferson on We Still Kill the Old Way. In November she was awarded the Almeria tierra de Cine Award and received a Star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
